Casper Event |
2009 Natrona County Report The Casper event on October 6, 2009 was great! Approximately 125 people were in attendance including a lot of kids. The Child Development Center brought a huge group of children who were darling! Dan Neal, with the State Equality Center, organized the event and did a wonderful job. The event was emceed by the Pam Walker, Executive Director of the Wyoming Early Childhood Partnership. Great speakers such as Christy Garner from the Casper Autism Society, Ty Wilson who holds the honor as Youth of the Year from the Boys and Girls Club, Kayleigh Corbett, a UW Social Work Student and Pam Walker from Wyoming Kids First addressed the crowd. Between the speakers high school students from Star Lane Center stated facts that they had researched on Juvenile Justice. City Councilwoman, Kim Holloway, presented a proclamation from the Mayor. Other Star Lane Center students carried banners. There were fun children's activities such as children painting sign, playing with parachutes and the Brain Injury Association did face painting. At the start of the rally, the crowd paraded from Pioneer Park to the County Courthouse waving the banners. We had media coverage by the Casper Star Tribune, K2 Television and KCWY TV.
